Four police officials from DK to receive President’s police medals

Mangaluru: Four police officials with distinguished service records have been selected from Dakshina Kannada district for the President’s police medals. The medals will be bestowed upon them at a function being held at Glass House of Rajbhavan Bengaluru on July 5.
The officials selected for the rare honour include retired Assistant Commissioner of Police of the city (central) subdivision Uday Nayak, Assistant Commissioner of Police of CCRB Vinay A Gaonker, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Sudhir M Hegde and Deputy Superintendent of Police Valentine D’Souza, currently posted at Bhatkal.
Mr Uday Nayak served as inspector in the special branch here, later functioned as inspector in the Lokayukta and then promoted as assistant commissioner of police. He retired as additional superintendent of police of the district.
Law enforcement officers with long, outstanding and distinguished service to this sector are decorated with the President’s Police Medals.
