Bengaluru: A auto driver helped a four-year-old girl to reunite with family on Saturday, January 16.

Majid Baig, who was driving his autorickshaw near National Games Village (NGV) in Koramangala, noticed a little girl walking on the pavement and crying aloud holding a cup of ice cream in hand.

Baig spoke to the girl, who she knew only Hindi, and got to know that she was separated from her mother. He tried to consoled her and asked a few passersby if they knew about her.

After trying to trace her family for more than 15 minutes he took her to Viveknagar police station. The Police too tried to locate the girl’s address but in vain. After taking her picture and details of Baig, they asked him to visit Koramangala police station, as NGV falls under its jurisdiction.

Koramangala police shared her pictures on WhatsApp groups. Baig was asked to accompany the girl in a Hoysala vehicle to the spot where he had found her. At NGV, cops made announcements about the missing girl. Hoping her house was somewhere near NGV, they kept moving around the area.

Meanwhile, the girl’s parents approached Viveknagar police station. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, the girl’s parents are daily-wage workers and residents of Ambedkar Nagar. The mother told police that her daughter went missing when they had gone to dispose of garbage.

Soon Viveknagar police contacted Koramangala inspector KB Ravi and the parents were also sent to the station and their joy knew no bounds when they found the girl.
