Fraudsters create fake website and Facebook page to target tipplers in Kerala

Due to the nationwide lockdown in the country, bars and liquor outlets are closed. Now fraudsters are trying to lure tipplers through fake online website claiming to sell liquor.
A fake website was created by scammers in Kerala which displayed a variety of brands of liquor with prices same as Bevco outlets.Excise department noticed the presence of fake website of Kerala State Beverages Corporation (Bevco ) and alerted the police officials.
Also, a fake Facebook page in the name of Consumerfed is promising home delivery of liquor, has also been identified.
The fake ad on the facebook page read, “Consumerfed Foreign Liquor Shop Kochi has launched online delivery. Home delivery available for all brand. Online payment accepted. 24 hours open.”
Consumerfed managing director Mohammed Rafique has filed a complaint regarding FB page ‘Consumerfed Foreign Liquor Shop Kochi’ in Kadavanthra police station.
