Gang assaults bar staff over bill payment, arrested

Bantwal: Police on Monday, February 24 arrested nine persons on charges of rioting at a bar allegedly over bill payment.

Acting on a complaint filed by the bar owner, the police arrested Vijaya. 27, Umesh, 22, Anwith P, 19, Udaya, 31, Mithun Rai, 21, Udaya S, 24, Lokesh K, 26, Tarun Raj, 25 and Adarsh 20 all residents of Kasargod.

The gang allegedly consumed liquor at the bar located in Bobbekeri and when asked to pay the bill they assaulted the bar staff and others at the spot.

The accused were produced in the court and remanded to judicial custody.
