Gauri Lankesh murder: another accused arrested

Bengaluru: Rajesh Bangera (50) a government employee was arrested by the SIT probing Gauri Lankesh murder. He was presented in the court on Tuesday, after which the court remanded him to 13 days police custody. 

Sources assert that this arrest was made based on data gathered from Mohan Nayak from Sampaje, Sullia, who was arrested a couple of days back. Rajesh, a local of Mangaluru, happens to be an employee of education department, and his family lives in Madikeri.

It is said that Mohan Nayak, who was a practitioner of native medicines, and Rajesh Bangera were friends. Rajesh and Mohan Nayak had come into contact with Amol Kale, who is said to be the master-mind behind this murder, through a friend of Kale. 

According to the SIT, the accused was not directly involved with the murder but rather on its substance, there are indications of him having stretched out help to the murderers. 

Rajesh Bangera was served notice for personal appearance, after the SIT got confirmation about Rajesh and Mohan being in contact with Amol Kale.
