Bengaluru: A teenager lost her life in an accident here.

It has been learnt that the victim, Preethi Chopra(19) was not wearing a steardy helmet while she was riding on the two wheeler

Preethi, first-year B.Com student at Surana College in Jayanagar, was on her way back home with her elder sister. Preethi was a pillion rider. A speeding truck rammed into them. After the collision, Preethi fell off the scooter and hit her head against the pavement. As she was not wearing a proper helmet, she died while her sister sustained some minor injuries.

The truck driver, who initially fled from the scene after the accident, was arrested by VV Puram police at his employer’s office on the same day.

The deceased’s eyes have been donated by her family via a Bengaluru based voluntary organisation.
