Gold worth Rs 17L seized from passenger at M’luru airport

Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport on Wednesday, August 19 seized 332 grammes of gold from a Dubai returnee.

The male passenger hailing from Kasaragod had arrived from Dubai via SpiceJet flight No. SG-60. The seized gold of 24 kt purity is valued at Rs 17,43,000.

The gold in form of paste mixed with solid gum was concealed inside the sole portion of a pair of slippers worn by the passenger, a release stated.
