Gold worth Rs 2 cr seized from omni bus in TN, one held

Pudukottai: Gold weighing around 8 kg and valued at Rs 2 crore was seized from a Chennai-bound Omni bus, in the district today and one person arrested in this connection, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials said.
Acting on a tip off that gold was being smuggled from Kulakarai in Virudhungar district to Chennai, the officials carried out vehicle checks and found eight kg gold in the Omni bus and arrested the accused, they said.
Investigation is on, they added.
