Gold worth Rs 90.34 lakh seized at MIA

Mangaluru: Customs Officers at Mangaluru International Airport seized gold weighing 1617 grams worth Rs 90, 34, 970 from 5 male passengers from January 19-31 this year.

The passengers arriving from Dubai attempted to smuggle gold through different modus operandi such as concealment in the beading of a trolley bag, in rectum, etc.

The officers also seized cigarettes and e-cigarettes valued at Rs 6, 42, 74o from a male passenger arriving from Dubai.
