New Delhi: With a surge in demand for hand sanitizers and face masks amid the coronavirus outbreak, the government on Friday capped prices for the same.
The move comes following exorbitant pricing for these products by sellers. As per the government order, a face mask cannot be sold for more than Rs 10 and the price of a 200ml bottle of hand sanitizer has been capped at Rs 100.
In a tweet, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution said: “The retail price of 200 ml hand sanitizer bottle cannot exceed Rs 100. These prices will remain in effect till June 30, 2020.”
3/3@drharshvardhan@narendramodi #IndiaFightsCorona
