Mangaluru: A couple of months ago, two new taluks were inaugurated in DK, namely Kadaba and Moodbidri. However, government officials connected to the new taluks have not yet shifted to the new offices and are continuing their work from the old office. In this backdrop, MLC and Parliamentary Secretary Ivan D’Souza has asked the concerned officials to go to their respective taluk centers within a month or face disciplinary action.

“Government officials who are associated with Moodbidri and Kadaba taluks need to go and work at their respective taluk office. But most of the officials are working in their previous office itself and this is causing several problems to the residents of the respective taluks. Hence, all the officials should go and work at their designated work places only. If the officials fail to make the shift within a month, I will recommend disciplinary action against them,” said the MLC speaking to reporters at MCC.

Informing that he had visited all the taluk centres and checked if the public was benefitting from the various government schemes or not the MLC said, “Most of the government schemes are beneficial to the public. Some beneficiaries did not get some of the government facilities as there were some legal issues. Hence I will raise the issue in the next session in order to bring some amendments to the existing schemes so that all benefit, “he said.

Speaking of revenue and pension adalats the MLC said, “If the adalats are held in the district centres then the problems of the people residing in remote areas will not be solved. Hence there is strict direction to hold revenue and pension adalats at the Hobli level once every month. The Village Accountants must voluntarily go and collect the required documents from the pernsioners and help them avail pension every month,” said Mr D’Souza.
