Belagavi: The Karnataka government Tuesday tabled four bills in the assembly, including the debt relief bill for small farmers, landless agriculture labourers and weaker sections of people.
The government said that the bill was being introduced as they were facing a crucial financial crisis due to floods and natural calamities in the state.
Also introduced was the ‘Karnataka good Samaritan and medical professional (protection and regulation during emergency situations) (amendment) bill 2018.’
The bill states that a good Samaritan shall not incur any civil or criminal liability for an act done or omission made while providing emergency care to an injured person, when such an act or omission is made in good faith.
The Karnataka land revenue (second amendment) bill, 2018, aimed at facilitating disposal of pending applications for regularisation of certain lands was also tabled, along with the Karnataka transparency in public procurements (amendment) bill to set up a public procurement e-portal accessible to public.
