Mangaluru: Condemning the inflammatory graffiti hailing terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, written on the wall of an apartment on Circuit House Road here, district Congress youth President Mithun Rai on Friday demanded immediate arrest of the culprits behind it.

“The writings, expressing support to terror outfits – LeT and Taliban pose a challenge for the country’s internal security. These people stay in this country and enjoy the benefits provided by it and then indulge in such anti-national activities. The culprits responsible for this ‘unpardonable’ act must be arrested immediately,” said Mithun.

“Our country is a secular one and people of all religions are residing in harmony here. However, few people are trying to create a divide among people by supporting terror outfits,” he said.

DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla too echoed a similar sentiment and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits who were trying to disturb the secular fabric in the society, failing which he warned of a protest in front of the local police station.

“The writings have created a sense of fear among residents in the city,” said Muneer while claiming that this heinous act reflects the failure of the police as well as district BJP administration. Presently people are plagued with problems of unemployment, health and education. The graffiti will only create mistrust among communities in this difficult times,” he added.

Katipalla said that the police must not only arrest the accused but also probe if anyone is behind this act.
