Grotto demolition case; policeman suspended

Bantwal: A policeman has been suspended by the Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police (SP) Ravikanthe Gowda for dereliction of duty. The suspended policeman has been identified as Ashok a beat police for Kolnadu area and attached to Vittal police station.
Ashok was suspended in relation to the case of demolition of the Mother Mary grotto belonging to Vijayadka Church and installation of idols and buntings at that place. The incident had taken place at Kulal near Kolnadu in Bantwal taluk on the night of Thursday, September 27th.
Earlier, Vittal police have taken two persons into their custody for interrogation in connection to the incident.
