HC orders state govt to submit report on pollution at river Cauvery’s origin

Bengaluru: The High Court of Karnataka has directed the state government to submit a report the pollution of the river Cauvery at its sources – Talacauvery and Bhagamandala – within four weeks.
The court while hearing the pitition filed by few local residents seeking court’s intervention to conserve the river, which is considered to be the lifeline of South India, passed the order that within four weeks the report on the pollution of the river Cauvery at its sources – Talacauvery and Bhagamandala, should be submitted by the state government.
The construction work and drainage water are polluting the river at its source, alleged petitioners.
