Mysuru: State Janata Dal (Secular) President H D Kumaraswamy honoured his party man and Halekesare Gram Panchayat (GP) member Mariswamy, who reprimanded Chief Minister Siddaramaiah amid his campaigning in Chamundeshwari Constituency on April 25.

HDK stretched out warm welcome to his devoted party man at a private resort and honored him by putting a Mysuru turban (peta) and offering a shawl. Local leaders and Chamundheswrai JD(S) competitor were also present on this event.

Faithful party men like Mariswamy can have a major effect due to which JDS-BSP consolidate can come back to power, HDK said on the event.

During CM’s campaign on Wednesday, Mariswamy had stated, “I won’t vote in favor of you. I will vote in favor of JD(S) only”, declining CM Siddaramaiah’s rehashed suggestions to support Congress.

“Okay, don’t come, however vote in favor of me. JD(S) and BJP are one, you realize that, right?”, CM had responded accordingly.

“No, I won’t vote in favor of you. Regardless, I will vote in favor of the JD(S). They made you the CM but for the CM post look what you did. I should state an enormous thank you to you,” Mariswamy was heard saying sarcastically.

Siddaramaiah at that point requested that Mariswamy leave the place. “For what reason should I leave the place? This is the place where I grew up, this is my hometown. You are the outsider, you leave,” he reacts, before leaving.

The episode occurred amid a roadshow in Hale Kesare village when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s caravan halted to address the public. It evoked chimes of giggling among individuals assembled around and made enormous buzz in the social media too.
