Heavy rains and thunderstorms wreak havoc; Parts of Mangaluru flooded

Mangaluru: The heavy rains that are lashing Mangaluru have thrown life out of gear. Some areas of the city were flooded due to the gushing rainwater.

It poured without break for 3 hours in the morning on Saturday.

Waterlogging was observed in Pandeshwar Shivanagar, Pumpwell, Kodialguttu, Kottara Chowki, Derebail Nagakannika area, Kannur Padil, and  Dongarakeri, among others.

People were seen wading through knee-deep waters.

Locals complained that helplines, as well as rescue calls, were non-operational.

At Morgansgate in the city, a tree was uprooted by the strong winds, damaging several vehicles parked nearby.
