Heavy Rains Impure Fuel, Stall Service of More than 20 BMTC Buses in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: More than 20 BMTC buses in Bengaluru stopped their service following engine failure as they supplied with impure diesel on Saturday. The fuel turned impure as rainwater entered into diesel tank at depot number 13 in Kathriguppe in the city on Friday late night amid heavy rainfall activities. As many as 20 Volvo buses have stopped their service and are being repaired at the depot, sources said.
According to the depot sources, the depot has a fuel tank with a storage capacity of 40, 000 liter and diesel stored in the tank impure as rain water entered into the tank on Friday late night.
