Red Alert: Holiday declared for schools and colleges in DK and Udupi on July 7

Mangaluru/Udupi: The district deputy commissioners of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have declared a holiday for schools and colleges in the districts on July 7 to ensure the safety of students.

In their order issued in his capacity as the head of the District Disaster Management Authority, the DC said that in view of the Red alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department for July 7, the anganwadis, schools, Colleges, including Engineering and ITI/Diploma colleges, will remain closed on July 7.

The DCs also issued a warning to the fishermen not to venture into the sea. At the same time asked people to stay away from water bodies due to the inclement weather.

The officials have been instructed to remain vigilant about any emergency situation.
