House burglary case cracked: Two arrested, assets recovered

Udupi: Two persons were arrested from Kukkikatte for their alleged involvement in the theft of gold ornaments and cash from a house in the city on July 16. Along with the arrests the cops also recovered ornaments worth Rs 1,69,800.

The arrested have been identified as Muhammed Farooq (18), who is from Hosanagara in Shivamogga district, currently living at a relative’s house at Indiranagar here and Afzal (19), also from Indiranagar. The seized assets include 66.850 grams of gold ornaments and three mobile phones worth Rs 4,800.

Station house officer of the town station, Ananthapadmanabha led the operation with the participation of assistant sub-inspector, Achutha of district police office and Gopalakrishna Jogi from the town station, apart from other staff.
