Mysuru: Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Friday, December 18, said that he has still not decided whether he would contest the next assembly elections.
Speaking to the reporters, Siddaramaiah said, ” I may take the decision in a year or so. Also, No one has forced me contest elections from Chamrajpet, Koppala and Kolar constituencies”
Talking about his defeat in Chamundeshwari constituency, he said, ” It is a good development. I cannot be a permanent leader. The constituency needs an alternative leader. It is true that I have not visited Chamundeswari constituency and also there has been no meeting held there after my defeat”
When questioned regarding the showcause notice issued by Karnataka Legislative Council chairman, Siddaramaiah said, ” The Chairman has the rights to issue showcause notice. Secretary comes under the Chairman but if secretary dances to the tune of BJP, we will not keep quiet”
Also, speaking regarding the re-opening of schools in the state, he said, ” If the pandemic is in control then there is no problem in re-opening of schools. Use of mask and sanitiser must be made mandatory. But, if there are hints of second wave of Covid-19 in the state, then the government must re-think its decision”
