IGP to reward Udupi district police personnel for excellent performances

Udupi: Mangaluru West range Inspector General of Police has declared commendation letters and monetary prizes to many police officers from police stations across the district here for doing excellent work in performing departmental duties and solving cases.

Following are the police officials and the cases they tracked and solved for which they are receiving the prize:

Harish Bangera case
Minor offences police station Inspectors Sitaram P and Ramachandra Nayak, Sub Inspectors Narayan and Lakshman and constables Sridhar, Raghavendra, Krishnaprasad, Jeevan and Praveen.

They were involved in the investigation and later arrest of two people accused of creating a false Facebook account of Koteshwara resident Harish Bangera and posting derogatory statements against the king of Saudi Arabia and Islam in that account leading to Bangera’s arrest in Saudi Arabia.

Kishan Hegde murder case
Circle Inspectors Ananthapadmanabha of Brahmavara, Mahesh Prasad of Kaup and Manjunath of Udupi, Brahmavara station Sub Inspector Raghavendra C, Kota Sub Inspector Santosh BP, Assistant Sub Inspector Krishnappa, District Crime Intelligence Bureau Assistant Sub Inspector Ravichandra, District Crime Intelligence Bureau personnel Manjappa DR, Manjunath, Ramu Hegde, Raghavendra, Brahmavara Circle office staff Vasudeva, Ganesh, Pradeep Nayak and driver Shekhara, Brahmavara Police Station personnel Dileep, Annappa, Ravindra and Hiriadka police station personnel Indresh.

They were involved in the investigation and arrest of 9 accused in the murder of Kishan Hedge.

Drug trafficking prevention
Manipal Police Inspector Manjunatha M and Sub Inspector Rajshekhar.

They were involved in investigating and arrest of drug traffickers and confiscating a huge amount of drugs from them.

Fast solving of assorted cases
Manipal police station personnel Manjunath M, Diwakar, Rajshekhar, Aadarsh, Kaup police station personnel Rajshekhar B, Mahabal and Arun Kumar, Byndoor police station’s Sangeeta, Manjunath, Nagraj, Kota police station’s Santosh BP, Ganesh and Krishna, Udupi, Town Police Station’s Sub Inspectors Saktivelu, Riaz Ahmed and Vishwanath.

They are being honoured for swiftly solving pending cases from 2019 and earlier.

Fast settlement of 67 Lok Adalat cases
Byndoor Sub Inspector Sangeeta, Shankaranarayana police station’s Sridhar Naik, Padubidri police station’s Dileep, Kundapura police station’s Sadashiv, Brahmavara police station’s Raghavendra (now posted in Kaup), Udupi Traffic Police Station’s Abdul Khader.

They are honoured for swiftly settling cases of the Lok Adalat.

‘Janasnehi’
Kollur police station’s Naveen, Malpe police station’s Raviraj, Padubidri police station’s Basappa, Shirva police station Andappa and Kundapura police station’s Prasanna.

They are honoured for ‘Janasnehi’ (People-friendly) police management.
