The students of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) have developed a multi-lingual digital game to spread awareness about precautions against COVID-19.
It was created as part of a nine-credit elective course. In the one-minute game, inspired by “Super Mario”, its character encounters various right and wrong things that the player must do or avoid in order to win points
The free, browser-based game can be played on mobiles, tablets, laptops and PCs. It is also available in 12 regional languages apart from English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil and Telugu.
According to India Today, After creating the prototype of the Covid game, the students collected feedback from different audiences and then translated the game to various languages to improve its reach. They want to introduce even more languages in future.
