Increased flow in Tungabhadra causes flooding

Davanagere: Heavy rains in the district on the afternoon of Sunday, August 9 has increased the flow of water in the district’s ‘Jeevanadi’ the Tungabhadra river. As a result, the Balraj Ghat in the town of Honnali is completely flooded.
The danger level of the river is at 11 meters and presently the river is flowing at 9.88 meters. The Taluk administration has warned people to be cautious in the face of widespread rains.
The rescue work of monkeys stuck on trees in the middle of the flooded river near Rajanahalli in Harihara taluk is over.
