International design studio iDiDe 2018 gets under way

Manipal: iDiDe 2018 an international design studio was inaugurated at Faculty of Architecture MAHE here on Thursday. This design studio with transcultural themed agenda is being held in collaboration with Deakin University, Australia and IIUM Malaysia. The studio will come out with the sustainable design proposal of Anganwadi, mother and child care centre at Ajjarkad, Udupi.
Dr. Narayan Sabhahit, Registrar, MAHE was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. N. Udupa Director, Research, Health Sciences, MAHE, Ms. Susan Ang, Senior lecturer and Founder of iDiDe, Deakin University, Australia and Prof. Nishant H Manapure, Director, FOA were present at the inauguration.
In his address, Dr. Sabhahit emphasized on the interdependence of engineers and architects while Prof. Nishant H Manapure mentioned about the importance of bringing sensibility to any design intent. Ms. Susan Ang shared her experiences from the past iDiDe design studios. iDiDe studio focusses on social outreach projects on the basis of three pillars, Culture, Collaboration and Contribution.
