IT Dept probes healthcare sector in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The Income Tax department has gathered some information that some of the healthcare officials which include few of the leading doctors, hospitals and laboratory owners for allegedly not disclosing their income.
It has been reported that around 28 individuals are being covered in the search, under way on 21 premises across Bengaluru and Chennai.
Few of the Pharma distributors are also being under the scanner.
Search has also been done and a look out has been made at accounts of some of the leading infertility clinics/hospitals and reputed labs with branches across the city to ascertain how they evaded tax despite collecting hefty fees from patients.
The IT Department has been probing various healthcare departments and the search will continue for few more days. Officials have seized documents of suspects for further probe.
