It’s a girl: Woman gives birth to baby inside ambulance

Bantwal: A woman gave birth to a female baby in 108 ambulance service attached to the hospital in Farangipet on Sunday, April 11.

When the woman from Uruvalu village in Beltangady taluk visited Puttur government hospital for her delivery, she was advised to go to Mangaluru as the services of a doctor were not available there.

Before the ambulance could reach Mangaluru the woman went into labour and the technician of the ambulance, Keshava helped the woman through the process of childbirth. Ambulance driver Venkanna Gowda also extended help.

Both the mother and baby are healthy and are currently undergoing treatment in Lady Goschen Hospital.
