Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai opined that the move by the centre to repeal the farm laws showed its resolve to be a responsive government and therefore, have “responded to the sentiments” of the farmers.

When asked whether the decision was influenced by the elections in 5 states, the CM denied any relation between the two. “It has nothing to do with elections. We have won the previous elections,” he said.

Talking about damage caused by the heavy rains, Bommai said he has asked for information on the unseasonal rainfall and associated destruction caused in the state. “Crops including paddy and maize have been damaged. I will get accurate information about this,” he said adding that the government will order the relief work to be launched after a preliminary survey.
