Bengaluru: The Karnataka Government has formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the sex CD scandal allegedly involving Ramesh Jarkiholi, former water resources minister.

Addressing the media, Home minister Basavaraj Bommai, informed,” This is a conspiracy against the minister and that is why SIT has been set up,”

Further, he said that the government has given complete freedom to the SIT to look into all the aspects of the case and no time limit has been given to probe the case.

He said if the SIT deems fit, it can register a First Information Report based on the preliminary inquiry.

Responding to DK Shivakumar’s comment on why conduct a probe if the CD is fake, Bommai said, “Shouldn’t the origin of CD, who made it or what was the intention behind it be probed?”
