JD(S) may ease ticket norm subject to pressure tactics by Prajwal Revanna supporter

Bengaluru: Pressure is mounting on JD(S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda to back-pedal from the two-ticket norm for his family as mentioned earlier. With increase in pressure on the leadership to field Prajwal Revanna from Rajarajehswari Nagar Constituency, party members have a notion that Anitha Kumaraswamy may also get ticket for Channapatna Constituency at the last minute.

Deve Gowda had a meeting with JD(S) workers from Rajarajeshwari Nagar Constituency who insisted to field Prajwal from their constituency. Earlier, Pawan expected to get ticket for Hunsur Constituency, but had to drop the idea after the ticket was issued to A.H. Vishwanath of that constituency who recently crossed over from Congress.

Since JD(S) president H.D Kumaraswamy is an ally to the current Congress MLA of Rajarajeshwari Nagar, shadow looms over the hopes of Prajwal who has nursed and ambition for this constituency.

After the meeting with Deve Gowda, Prajwal’s supporters were able to extract a promise from Deve Gowda to relook into the decision to field only two persons from his family.

There is a possibility that a few changes might be made to the released list of candidates. The second rectified list of JD(S) candidates will be released after Ugadi festival, said Kumaraswamy.
