Kalaburgi: At least 5 people were killed in a horrific accident on the national highway near Balurgi between Afzalpur and Dudhani on Friday evening.
It is gathered that 9 people of a family, including children, were traveling in the car when the man behind the wheel lost control and smashed the vehicle into a tree. They were returning to Ahmedpur in Maharashtra after visiting the popular pilgrimage in Afzalpur taluk.
Due to the impact, the driver of the car and four women were killed on the spot. Three have sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Afzalpur Government Hospital for treatment.
Afzalpur police have registered a case in this regard.
