Kalaburagi: Villagers pelt stones at health officers, ambulance escorting COVID-19 patients

Kalaburagi: In a shocking incident, villagers of Tanda pelted stones at an ambulance which was fetching 15 people who had tested positive for COVID-19 to a hospital for treatment.
As per sources, a medical team along with some police personnel had gone to the Tanda village to bring 15 people who had tested positive for COVID-19 to a hospital for treatment on Monday, June 15.
The medical team got into an argument with villagers, which turned violent and people started pelting stones at the ambulance and a vehicle of the health department.
The police on receiving the information rushed more security forces to the village.
Lada Martin Marbaniang, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kalaburagi also visited the spot and spoke to a few leaders.
A case has been registered against violent offenders.
