Kalmakaru victim to be given Kodagu model assistance: Khader

Sullia: The four houses that were lost in the natural disaster in Sullia taluk’s Kalmakaru will be provided assistance by the government similar to the Kodagu model, said district in-charge minister U T Khader.

Speaking with the reporters he said that the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will be start off the work on the construction of houses for the victims in Kodagu. The government has decided to provide Rs 10,000 to the victim families as rent until the construction of the houses is completed. This facility will also be provided to the victims of Kalmakaru, he said.

No information on the district

Speaking on the complete damage sustained by over 130 houses in Dakshina Kannada (DK) district due to the natural disaster and the only Rs 95,000 relief provided, the minister said that district administration’s report on the complete extent of the damage had not come to his notice. It has been considered to be the result of a natural disaster. The relief to the border areas of DK including Sampaje will be provided in the model of Kodagu, he informed.

They waited for two hours for Khader!

Many people at various programmes had to wait for two-and-a-half hours for U T Khader has he arrived much late than his decided time of arrival. However, the minister apologized for his delay and went to the programmes and took people’s petitions. During the night to he conducted the municipality progress inspection meeting.
