Karkala: Mortal remains of a 63-year-old man found; police suspect murder

Karkala: The mortal remains of a 63-year-old man was found in the verandah of his house in Karkala on May 19. Police officials have suspected that he was murdered
The deceased has been identified as Shirlalu Hadiangadi Anand Shervegar. It is said that Anand, had sold his four acres of land to Ganesh Rao, who is employed in Bengaluru, and two other persons. He was living alone after he separated from his wife and children.
Anand had taken permission from the buyers of his land to build a small house at a distance of 100 meters from his ancestral house on the land and used to live in it alone.
His relative Harish used to come to his house daily for household work. They both had the habit of consuming liquor.
On the day of Anand’s death, Harish returned late in the night and it is said that they both must have fought in an inebriated state, which resulted in the death of Anand.
A case has been registered at Ajekar police station.
