Karnataka Govt Plans to Supply Cauvery Water to Hoskote

Bengaluru: Karnataka State government has asked Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to find possibilities to supply water to Hoskote from River Cauvery at an estimated cost of Rs 42 crore.
As of now, Hoskote requires 15 million liters of water every day to fulfill drinking water necessities of the people. Cauvery water is being supplied by BWSSP to 570 scquare kilometer and once fifth phase of Cauvery water supply project starts functioning, water will be supplied to more areas near Bengaluru, said a BWSSB official.
New pipeline 18 kilometer long pipeline will be laid by BWSSB to supply Cauvery water to the people including Hoskote residents.
