Bengaluru: Karnataka state government has decided to setup 25 polytechnic colleges in the state in an attempt to promote technical education. The state government will release Rs 8 crore for every polytechnic college sanctioned and the courses will start from next academic year.
Speaking in a press meet in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Karnataka State Higher Education Minister Basavaraj Rayareddi said, the proposed 25 polytechnic will be established in Sadalaga, Ramdurg, Jamkhandi, Kolar, Alanda, Sindhnur, Maski, Kanakagiri, Munirabad, Rona, Jundagola, Haliyala, T Narasipura, Piriyapatna, Byadagi, Sandur, Chithahalli, Basavapatna, Kapu, Tharikere, Tiptur, Madhugiri, Gowribidnur, Malavalli, and Kollegal.
