Karwar chef in Kabul abducted and killed

Karwar: In a tragic incident a resident of Karwar in Uttar Kannad district was abducted along with two other foreign nationals and killed in Kabul on Thursday, August 2nd.

The men used to work for French catering company Sodexo and their mortal remains were found in a car park in the Mussahi district in the southern part of Kabul province.

Patson Rodrigues

The deceased Indian has been identified as Patson Rodrigues (39), a resident of Karwar in Uttara Kannada. He is survived by his wife Frilla Rodrigues (33), who resides in Karwar with their daughter Presli (5) who is currently studying in UKG.

After completing a hotel management course 10 a decade ago, Patson left Karwar and worked as a chef for Sodexo in Kabul, a food services and facilities management company that serves many sectors, including offices, hospitals, schools, prisons and military bases, He was the main earner of the family.

Incident synopsis

According to the local media, in the morning around 8:30 am, armed men force the three victims out of their vehicle and abducted them at the industrial park area of the 9th Police District in Kabul. As soon as the driver reached Sodexo office, he informed the staff about the abduction, claim the reports. Consequently a search operation was launched and a few hours later the mortal remains of the three victims were found at a car park.

An Indian, a Malaysian and a Macedonian citizen were abducted and killed. We have found their bodies. They were shot dead and their bodies were found inside a car, informed the police.
