Karwar Police Seize Rs 10 lakh Worth Demonetised Currency Notes; Arrest One

Karwar: Karwar police seized Rs 10 lakh worth banned currency notes in the denomination of Rs 500, a Maruti 800 car on Wednesday midnight in Karwar. The police arrested Abdul Rasheed Sheque (52), a resident of Doddagadde located near Deevalli of Kumta taluk inconnection with the case.  

The accused was reportedly transporting the cash amount from Kumta to Karwar. On a suspicion, Karwar city police chased and seized the sum and arrested the driver. The police yet to get information on the banned currency notes seized and purpose of its transportation.
