Kundapura: Soon after the purported suicide of Kundapura-based entrepreneur Katte Bhojanna, the police recovered a death note allegedly written by him, sources said.

As per the note, financial loss of a significant amount in a gold-related scheme seems to be the prime reason behind the death, sources added.

The note, written in Kannada, mentions the names of two individuals, gold jeweller Molahalli Ganesh Shetty and broker Hangalur Ismael. The deceased had allegedly invested about Rs3.34 crores and about 5 kg in a scheme promoted by the duo in February, 2013. However, the same was not returned, incurring a substantial loss.

Further, Bhojanna mentions the problems he faced due to the loss. Before signing off, the letter asks the concerned officials to get back the money he is owed by the duo and hand it to his kin.

Incidentally, Bhojanna had shot himself to death with a revolver at the verandah of Ganesh Shetty home on May 26.

Meanwhile, Kundapura police are continuing the investigation into the death based on the suicide note, sources added.
