Kerala: Temple authorities cancel religious festival, distributes 5,000 kg free rice

Vallikunnam: Amid Covid-19, A temple in Kerala has cancelled the yearly festival and decided to distribute free rice. Pariyarathukulangara Bhadra-Bhagavathy temple committee cancelled this year’s festival amid Covid-19 lockdown. The Navahayajnam was supposed to take place between April 3 to 13.
The temple authorities are planning to distribute around 5000 kgs of rice among people. The rice will be packed in different kits and will be sent to houses in the locality. Also, the rice will beprovided to all the locals, irrespective of their economic status.
The temple authorities have also decided to utilize the temple fund for helping people in the region.
