Kodagu Police Seize 14 KG Ganja Near Kushalnagar; Arrest 6

Kodagu: Kodagu police have arrested 6 persons and seized 14 kilogram Ganja worth Rs 5 lakh and a Maruti 800 car used to transport the material. The six member gang had planned to supply ganja to its customers located at various parts of the district, said Kodagu District Superintendent of Police P Rajendra Prasad.

The six accused have been identified as Hunsur based fish vendor HS Ismail Sharif (34), Shivajyothi (30), driver, K Mahesh (30), K Rajegowda (61), Bhimanahalli based daily labor Somesh (20), Suntikoppa based trader Irfan (27) and Piriyapatna Harnalli village based farmer N Nasir Shareef (23).

Kodagu police on a tipoff arrested the six member gang near Kushalnagar along with their vehicle. Ganja was reportedly brought from Hindupur of Andhra Pradesh to sell the same in Kodagu, the accused said.
