Kodagu: Third tiger attack kills child in Belur village

Madikeri: Tiger attack continues to rattle southern Kodagu with another young victim succumbing to injuries on March 23.

The tiger attack occurred on a farm labourer and his grandson in Belur village in Ponnampet taluk.

The dead victim has been identified as Rangaswamy (8). His grandfather Kencha (52) was seriously injured.

Rangaswamy dies on the spot while Kencha was taken to a Mysuru hospital for further treatment after first aid.

Three human and twelve cows have been killed by tiger attacks in the last 16 days.

An environment of terror prevails in nearby villages. Residents of these villages have expressed outrage against forest officials.
