K’taka allows 500 people at mass events; hotels, restaurants can operate at full capacity

Bengaluru: In new guidelines issued by the State’s Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar, the State government has increased the number of people allowed to attend social events.

Celebrations such as marriages, birthday parties and also funerals can now have upto 500 people in attendance. While hotels, restaurants and other eateries with seating can have diners at full capacity.

The government has however capped the number of entrants to movie theatres to 50 per cent of theatre’s seating capacity.

The guidelines further state that offices can allow full attendance but can also continue with remote working. Factories, shops and other commercial establishments can also allow full workforce attendance.

The guidelines mention that precautions and restrictions are still being maintained in view of a possible second wave of the pandemic.
