After Cong boycott K’taka Assembly, speaker invites leaders to negotiate

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Assembly on Wednesday passed an anti-cow slaughter bill. The bill, known as Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill-2020′ was passed unopposed as Congress members staged a walkout in protest of the bill.
The opposition parties alleged that the bill was not discussed for tabling in the Business Advisory Committee meeting. Also, Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader ,Siddaramaiah said that his party would also boycott today’s Assembly session.
However, an invitation has been sent from Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri ‘s office to Congress leader Siddaramaiah for negotiation. Also, as Congress legislative party meeting is being held today to discuss the anti-cow slaughter bill, speaker Kageri has personally visited the office where the meeting is being held to invite Siddaramaih for negotiation of the bill. Siddaramaih has agreed to come after the meeting
