K’taka bypolls: EC seizes 53 pressure cookers from Hoskote

Bengaluru: The Election Commission flying squad conducted a raid in poll-bound Hoskote in Bangalore Rural district and seized 53 pressure cookers from a house.
As per the sources the raid was conducted on Monday, November 18 after receiving information that the cookers were being distributed to the voters and are being stored in a house in Geddalahalli village of Nandagudi Hobli of Hoskote taluk.
The house raided by the fkying squad belonged to a person identified as Alim Pasha.
A case has been filed at Nandagudi police station and an investigation is on in the matter.
Assembly by-polls to the 15 assembly seats in Karnataka are scheduled to be held on December 5 from 7 am to 6 pm.
The by-elections would take place in Athani, Kagwad, Gokak, Yellapura, KR Pura, Yashwanthapura, Hirekerur, Ranebennur, Vijayanagara, Chikkaballapura, Hoskote, Mahalakshmi Layout, Shivajinagar, KR Pete and Hunsuru.
According to the Election Commission, the last date for filing nomination is November 18. The date of scrutiny of nominations is November 19 and the last date for the withdrawal of candidates is November 21.
The counting of votes would take place on December 9.
