K’taka COVID-19 update: 5938 new cases; 4996 discharges; 68 deaths on Aug 22

Bengaluru: Between the midnights of August 21 and 22, 5,938 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the State while 4,996 people were discharged after recovering from the virus and 68 deaths related to the virus also occurred.

Presently, the tallies in the State are 2,77,814 total cases and 4683 COVID-19 deaths.

83,551 cases are active in the State out of which 787 are admitted in Intensive Care Units.

Districts with high incidences of cases are Bengaluru Urban (2,126), Ballari (406), Davanagere (265), Koppala (256), Shivamogga (246), Kalaburagi (203), Hassana (196), Dharwad (194), Dakshina Kannada (193), Gadag (182), Haveri (150), Bagalakote (139), Belagavi (136), Vijayapura (134), Chikkamagaluru (126), Udupi (117), Tumakuru (112) and Uttara Kannada (108).
