Udupi: Goa Police on Tuesday arrested a man and a woman who were on the run after allegedly killing a senior citizen in Udupi.
A team of Old Goa Police station led by inspector Jivba Dalvi arrested the couple from St Cruz village near Panaji.
Amrish Basappa Jadar (30) and Rashida Abdul Qarim (26), hailing from Nargundu, Dharwad district of Karnataka, were wanted by the police in that state, inspector Dalvi said.
The two are accused of robbing and killing an old woman at Udupi.
The couple’s modus operandi was to approach a senior citizen who wanted to let a room, and after gaining trust, loot the house and decamp.
After receiving information that the duo might be hiding in Goa, the police tracked them down on the basis of their photographs and the call record, inspector Dalvi said.
