The state government revised its earlier order on the six-year age limit for admissions into Class 1 at state schools.
The mandatory age limit for enrolling into Class 1 will now come into effect from the academic year 2025-26 as against the earlier order which stated that the rule will be applicable from the 2023-24 academic year.
The revised order was issued by the Department of School Education and Literacy on Tuesday after private school organizations and parents expressed their concern over the implementation of the 6-year age limit for enrolling into Class 1 from the next academic year.
