Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has directed the State government to decide on the continuation of the Vidyagama scheme within 10 days.
The order was passed by the division bench of Justices BV Nagaratna and NS Sanjay Gowda.
The bench’s order stated that as the Vidyagama scheme was started for those students who do not have access internet or television for teleclasses it is important that the State government consider whether to continue the scheme within 10 days.
The order also stated that the government can also buy electronic devices for students by seeking funds from corporates under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) facility as the State’s exchequer is already under stress due to the economic crisis induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
