K’taka reports 2062 Covid-19 cases tally surges to 28,877

Bengaluru: The tally of coronavirus cases in Karnataka rose to 28,877 with further 2062 new cases being reported on Wednesday, July 8.

In the last 24 hours 2062 new cases, 54 deaths and 778 discharges have been reported, the health department said in its bulletin.

As on date 16,527 cases are active of which 452 are admitted to ICU. So far 11,876 patients have recovered while the death toll stands at 470.

Yet again Bengaluru accounted for majority of the cases with 1148 cases being reported from state capital today. Of the 12,509 positive cases in Bengaluru 10,103 are active while 2228 persons have recovered.

Among other districts which reported a huge spurt of cases includes Dakshina Kannada 183; Dharwad 89; Kalaburagi 66; Mysuru & Ballari 59 each; Bengaluru Rural 37; Ramanagara 34; Chikkaballarpura 32; Udupi and Haveri 31 each.
